About Us

I have always been passionate about animals and thought it was time to do what I love for a living. Below are just some of my own animals:

6 dogs

Barney - Original large sized Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Charlie - Original large sized Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, one of our rescue dogs.

Marley - Our 'modern' little sized cavalier - little dog, big personality! Another unwanted pup bless him.

Louis - our little cavalier cross from the Sheffield City Council Dog pound, was found in a flat with his dead owner. He's needing a lot of work doing with him as he was very traumatised and has not been socialised, but he's worth it. Having had him for a good 2 years now it;'s clear that he has been ill treat previously and doesn't behave like a noirmal dog - he is affectionatley known as our 'little alien!'

Tia is another rescue Dogue de Bordeaux and was extremely underweight when we got her (all her ribs and spine were visible!) and has been usesd as a money making machine, by having a litter of pups before she was turfed out, She is now settled and up to her appropriate weight and allows the little ones to steal her bones!

George

George is another rescue from the dog pound and is as mad as a hatter! He's obviously had no training before and so we have started with that, as well as having him castrated and getting him on some decent food. We are now beginning to see the 'good George' as apposed to our tazmanian devil!

All of the gang :

In the February 2009 snow!
Charley and Barney with our lovely boy Lennox, who we unfortunatley lost on the 29th December 2009 to Bloat. He was a fab, loyal dog but unfortunatley had lots of underlying health problems when we took him on. Although he was only with us for just over a year - the joy he brought to the household was immersurable and we miss him dearly.

Barney doing his agility!

1 African grey parrot - Obi

Rosie and Herbert - 2 of our herd of hedgehogs.
Our three African Pygmy hedgehogs

8 Cats

ranging from 1-14 years

               Candy   - 8 years old                                              Molly - 5years old(left)

Trudy - our old lady of 14 years.

Jasper  - another rescue approx 14 years old

Milo - 3 years old                          Ozzy - 4 years. He was found under a
hedge when he was approx 3 weeks old and
taken to the dog pound. He  much prefers
canine company to feline and snuggles up with
                                                        the dogs each night.

       Smudge aka.......smudgerooney!                                                             Bella

We bought smudge or Bengal when we saw her advertised for sale and pregnant. We were worried that someone may buy her and use her as a money making machine. She was only 2 years old and was expecting her 3rd litter. She gave birth in one of the wardrobes (lovely!) to 5 gorgeous kittens, one of whom we kept and called Bella. The other 4 were given to family friends and have all been neutered/vaccinated etc as have our two gorgoeus Bengal girls.

1 Rats
(Wini)Fred - a rescue antisocial ratty girl! She detests other rats but  is more than happy to greet the Smudge. Smudge goes to greet her every morning and gives her a lick through the bars!

1 hamster

We have our lovely little syrian boy - Billy who is a lazy boy!

15 or Guineapigs

I have my own piggies in addition to the rescues I care for. I have some general shorthaired, a few swiss and a couple of rex pigs. They are all really fab characters and love veggie time! They all live in pairs or groups which is a must for these social creatures.

Several of my own bunnies - usually the rescue ones with medical problems that can't be rehomed.

4 Sugar gliders - Kaiko, Cocoa, Cookie and Crumble

3 chinchillas  - Lola, Charley Chin and Jessica.

We originally took on Charley and Lola as a rescue pair and were told that Charley had been castrated..........a few months later we got a very big suprise when we dicovered little Jessica! Needless to say that Charley has now been to be castrated and they are one happy family.

And finally...................the 6 chickadees - all ex battery and enjoying a new lease of life.
